Insurance for trailer/caravan?
In the countries listed on your International Insurance Certificate*, caravans and (tent) trailers up to 750 kg are included in the third-party liability insurance of the towing vehicle. On your certificate of insurance, under point 6, you will find the code AF. In that case, an additional International Insurance Certificate for your caravan or (tent) trailer is not necessary.
Is the caravan or (tent) trailer heavier than 750 kg? In that case, you will need a separate certificate of insurance. You can request this insurance certificate from the leasing company.
* With an International Insurance Certificate you can prove that your motor vehicle is insured abroad. In the past, this certificate was also known as the green card, as a reference to the colour it was printed on. Now the certificate is printed on white paper.
